Terms of sale

1. Who we are

These terms govern your purchase of products from JJ Auto at jjauto.co.uk. By placing an order you agree to them.

2. Ordering

When you place an order you will receive an email acknowledging it. This acknowledgement confirms we have received your order; it does not form a contract. A contract is formed only when we email to confirm that your order has been accepted, or when we dispatch it, whichever is first.

We may decline an order, for example if an item is unavailable, if there has been a pricing error, or if we cannot make a personalised item as requested. If we decline after you have paid, we refund you in full.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Delivery is charged at checkout and shown before you pay.

Payment is taken at the time of order through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card details. If a price is obviously wrong and you could reasonably have spotted the error, we do not have to supply the item at that price.

4. Personalised and custom items

Personalised plates and custom prints are made specifically to your specification. Please check spelling, characters, sizes and options carefully before ordering, as:

• These items are exempt from the statutory 14 day right to cancel, so they cannot be cancelled or returned once we have begun making them, unless faulty.
• For custom prints, we will confirm the details and, where relevant, your file with you before printing. If the job turns out to differ materially from the instant quote, we will contact you before proceeding and you may cancel for a full refund at that point.

Our personalised plates are novelty items and decorative desk pieces. They are not road-legal number plates and must not be displayed on a vehicle used on public roads.

5. Delivery, cancellation, returns and warranty

Delivery times, your right to cancel, our voluntary 30 day returns promise, our 12 month warranty, and the accidental damage cover on keyring plates are all set out on our delivery and returns page, which forms part of these terms.

6. Our products

Because items are 3D printed to order, small variations in colour, finish and visible layer lines are normal and are part of the character of the product, not a defect. Photographs and previews on the site are illustrative. Colours can appear differently on different screens.

7. Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that goods will be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. Where anything in these terms conflicts with your legal rights, your legal rights prevail.

8. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud. As our products are decorative and accessory items, we are not liable for their use in ways they are not intended for, such as fitting a part in a safety-critical position it was not designed for.

9. Events beyond our control

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If such an event happens we will contact you and extend delivery times, or you may cancel affected unfulfilled orders for a refund.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
